101 Reasons to Love Gaylord Golf Club – Kidding, We Stopped at 10

By Greg Johnson –
If time-tested matters, then Gaylord Golf Club is certainly that. It celebrates 101 years as a club and 50 years at its current site this summer. Come celebrate timeless golf with us.
The greens are the best in northern Michigan. We don’t have to brag. Just play them and see how wonderfully they roll.
Since they were once called Gaylord Country Club, people think they are private. There are member-owners, but public play is welcome, especially for Gaylord Golf Mecca visitors and destination golfers.

It feels like they invented the “Your Country Club for a Day” theme. They certainly perfected it with quality golf conditions, great food and being a great place to gather.
You can package a great bang-for-your-buck round at Gaylord Golf Club with any of the other 17 courses in the Gaylord Golf Mecca cooperative marketing group, which also includes 20 lodging partners. Check out what the area has to offer for visiting golfers at gaylordgolfmecca.com.
With five tee options, the course can accommodate golfers of various ability levels. The 6,600-yard timeless Don Childs design can test the low-handicap golfers and still be enjoyed by those who card higher numbers.

The golf course winds around a community, but the few visible homes are several yards away and do not impact golfing and strolling through what is essentially a pure northern Michigan park with beautiful green grass and trees.
The Grille offers a great menu for before, after and during your golf rounds. Recommendations from this list maker include the Grilled Bacon Swiss Chicken Sandwich on a Kaiser roll, or the Quarter Pound All-Beef Hot Dog.

They welcome groups of all sizes coming to visit each golf season, including some who return each year. The dedicated staff can help you plan a great day for your group. Just call them at 231-546-3376.
Head PGA Golf Professional J.T. Aude and his staff are friendly, knowledgeable and quick to make golfers feel welcome. Book a tee time and see for yourself.
