Gaylord Golf Mecca One of the Top Golf Destinations in the Midwest
By: GolfPRGuy
When the Gaylord Golf Mecca launched its golf marketing campaign nearly 30-years ago, it was one of just two destinations in the country, and the only one in Michigan that promoted multiple courses and resorts within a community; the other being Myrtle Beach.
Today the group’s vision continues with 15 of the finest courses in northern Michigan. Combine that with 17 hotel properties and you have a golf destination that has attracted hundreds of thousands of golfers to the region. The economic impact alone on the region has been in the millions of dollars.
Recently, Golf Advisor, powered by Golf Channel, ranked the destination among the Top 5 in the Midwest. See link below.

“The best thing about northern Michigan golf is the solitude and the elevated tee shot, both of which were perfected in Gaylord and most notably at Treetops Resort,” said Golf Advisor about Gaylord.
The anchors to the destination include Treetops Resort, with its 81-holes of golf including courses by Tom Fazio and Robert Trent Jones Sr., followed by Otsego Club and The Loon Golf Resort. Black Lake Golf Club, designed by Rees Jones, Elk Ridge, Michaywe, The Natural, Gaylord Country Club, and Black Bear together offer a variety of golf experiences unmatched in the Midwest.
